Welcome to Subtextual Healing! If you read a bit of my writing in the past, you will notice that my old website is gone. While I had some fun creating a website to feature my work, I am enjoying the Substack platform and how it makes reading my words easier. You can now visit www.subtextualhealing.com, or you can subscribe to my newsletter and get emailed directly, or you can download the Substack app if you want to read from your phone.

Subtextual Healing is a place for me to write and reflect on life but also to examine pop culture and how we can grow as humans as we navigate lower and higher forms of artistry. We’re all often attempting to make meaning from our lives, that is why we are so obsessed with stories. We watch television and films, we listen to podcasts and read books in order to find connection and to make sense of our existence. But we often stop at consumption without digesting. Subtextual Healing is my attempt to create a place to digest, to explore, to laugh, to build, and to grow from our shared experiences.

  • I’ll be releasing a Monday newsletter that features what I’m watching, reading, listening to, etc., and perhaps a random thought for the day.

  • Fridays will feature a mixture of more intentional writing centered around memoir, current events, history, education, politics, and whatever else is holding my attention.

I’ll be launching my first newsletter on Monday, March 28th. I hope you’ll check it out.

Sign up now so you don’t miss the first issue. In the meantime, tell your friends!

I have exciting news to share: You can now read Subtextual Healing in the new Substack app for iPhone.

Read Subtextual Healing in the Substack app
Available for iOS and Android

With the app, you’ll have a dedicated Inbox for my Substack and any others you subscribe to. New posts will never get lost in your email filters, or stuck in spam. Longer posts will never cut-off by your email app. Comments and rich media will all work seamlessly. Overall, it’s a big upgrade to the reading experience.

The Substack app is currently available for iOS. If you don’t have an Apple device, you can join the Android waitlist here.
